Arbor Day is very special for the Black Diamond Tree team! On May 3, our teammate Hannah went to Montpelier, VT to attend the Vermont Arbor Day Conference hosted by Vermont Urban & Community Forestry Program.
Hannah attended three sessions: “Tree ID Made Easy”, which was an interactive session teaching some basics on identifying different trees; “Preparing Your Community for EAB” offered education & how to deal with the pest and the final session Hannah attended was “What’s Wrong with My Tree?” and was all about tree health assessment.
Following the conference, Hannah was grateful to “get together with other tree care professionals and tree enthusiasts. The Conference offered many opportunities to learn and network. I loved meeting people from different areas of expertise. I was very inspired.”
We also celebrated Arbor Day with students from Twin Valley Elementary School! We delivered 120 coloring books to Principal Rebecca Fillion who used the books to compliment Twin Valley’s outdoor learning program. “We were so grateful to receive the coloring books for our students. We have been growing our outdoor learning program in grades PreK-1 so it was so nice to be able to share coloring books for Arbor Day. We also love having a relationship with local business in our community. It makes us feel great when we partner with others to make our students learning experience fuller. Thank you!”
